The Gorakhpur Airport is set for a major expansion with a new terminal building, thanks to an MoU between the Indian Air Force, AAI, and the district administration. This upgrade will dramatically increase flight handling capacity from 26 to around 200 daily, and passenger capacity will surge to 2,500 per hour.
