Union Minister G Kishan Reddy announced that the Rail Manufacturing Unit (RMU) in Kazipet will manufacture Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) trains with 16-20 coaches, intended for non-urban and semi-urban regions. The RMU, being constructed at a revised cost of Rs 716 crores, is targeted for completion by January 2026.
